Inspirational self gift giving

Tis the time of year to buy gifts. During our gift buying, Sparklegirl and I decided to treat ourselves by getting two books to get ideas on our "around the world" trip. We bought Lonely Planet 2008 Bluelist and the Rough Guide Make the Most of Your Time on Earth. Both of these books talk about "one in a lifetime" experiences around the world, such as Lonely Planet's list of ten places in the world where you can sleep in a prison, or watching and getting multi-color paint poured over you during the Indian festival of Holi. Both books have wonderful photographs from around the world, making me excited to leave on our trip, wherever we may end of going. With the US dollar at all time lows with no bottom in sight, we are open to anywhere in the world, as long as it is an inexpensive country. I really want to go back to Japan, but it would be very expensive. We will have to decide if two weeks in Japan is worth coming back from our trip a month or two early.
